Adventures at Roloff Farms
This past weekend we made a family trip to the pumpkin patch. However, this was not just any pumpkin patch. We went to Roloff Farms! One of my very favorite shows is Little People Big World which is filmed in Oregon. I convinced Bryce that we needed to make a visit to the Roloff farm to see where the magic happens. However when we arrived we found that we were at the end of a very long line of cars waiting to enter the infamous pumpkin patch. After waiting for about twenty minutes, Jay and Malina (Bryce's parents) and I got out of the car and started walking towards the entrance to see how long our wait would be. This is when we had our first encounter. From watching the show I knew that the Roloff family drove a beat up old Previa just like my family used to (may the green bean rest in peace.) As I was walking in the distance I saw a green, round blur approaching. I quickly recognized it as a Previa. While it passed me on the side of the road, I strained to see inside and saw that Zach (the little person twin) was inside. It was one of the most exhillarating experiences of my life. When we got close to the front the security gaurd told us we couldn't walk in to the farm but had to ride in our vehicle to the pumpkin patch. So Jay, Malina and I decided to grab some burgers at a nearby tavern and take them back to Bryce and Quin who were waiting in the stopped traffic. After getting our enormous lunch to-go we started walking towards the entrance. This is when we had our second encounter. The security gaurd let us pass because we said we were bringing burgers to our vehicle that was just up ahead. A moment later Matt Roloff drove up in his golf cart with the camera men in the back seat. He saw us walking and yelled "You guys can't walk in!" The cameras turned to the three of us and filmed us walking with our burgers. I was momentarily star struck so Jay yelled back that we were bringing our lunch to our car. Matt yelled back that it was fine. And we were left wondering when we would be starring in the next episode of Little People Big World.
While at the pumpkin patch we saw Zach ride by on a bike and Quin was admired by the cameramen (watch the turtle video and you will see them talking to me about Quin at the end). It was quite the adventure!
