Zoo Adventures.

I, Kari Leigh Doty, solomnly vow that I will take my son, Quin Donaldson Doty, to the Oregon Zoo on a regular basis (weather permitting).

So the Portland Zoo may not have quite the square footage that the San Diego Zoo has, but it is still awesome. I enjoyed visiting the baby elephant and being freaked out by the bats (creepy to the MAX!!!) while Quin enjoyed banging on the glass of the cages and looking at the sky. While he may not have been aware that he was at zoo, I believe Quin enjoyed the experience none the less.

This picture is my favorite because we have a similar one of Bryce when he was 1-2 years old sitting on the same little statue. Tradition.

O.K. so this was the coolest part of the trip. As Quin approached the Cougar zone the cat saw his BYU sweater and came running to him because he felt that Quin too was a cougar at heart. Quin immediately gave his cougar growl to communicate that he too felt the bond. I see a "Y" in my son's future.

California Poem

Confessions of a Shopaholic + my Sister = Giggles

Alone on an airplane with a six month old. Stressful!

Lunch at Ruby's on the Oceanside Pier. Mmmmmm...that chololate covered cherry shake was delicious!

Inclement weather? None!

Friends and Family. It was great seeing all my old buddies from highschool at a 3 generation lunch. We all brought our moms and our kids!

Oscars. I never really watch the Oscars, but I will admit that I thoroughly enjoyed watching the red carpet, hoopla the hour before the big event. Ann Hathaway is gorgeous!

Really? Is it really 75% off?!? Does that come in my size? Nordstrom's Rack I love you. Need I say more?

Nails. My mom treated me to a spa pedicure. It was divine. The color of my nails is now "Boris and Natasha" (it is like a dark plum). I feel so Russian.

In-And-Out I miss you already!

Another airplane ride back home. I highly recommend Jet Blue.

Here we are at my parents house in front of our tangelo tree.Grandma and aunt Haylee feeding Quin. Notice what we ate in the background (refer to the second "I" in my poem if unsure)
Grandpa on the Pier.
