A Broken Leg

Here is the scene of the crime:
Quin's first sledding excursion. Bryce was excited to try out his new sled he got for Christmas. However he wasn't so excited went 1 minute later he fell face forward in the snow onto Quin, while climbing up the slippery, snowy, mountain. Quin wasn't very excited either.

After making it to the top of the hill and noticing that Quin wouldn't stand on his leg we began the 1 hour trip back to Klamath and the ER. Our second trip to the ER that week. This time we waited 6 hours to get our diagnosis.

Diagnosis: A fractured Tibia
Solution: 2 months in a full leg cast
Cast Color: Red...after much persuasion. Originally Quin wanted orange. Glowing, construction orange. Mommy explained how Lightning McQueen was red and Quin eventually saw that red might be a better choice. Phew!
Care/Treatment: Don't get the cast wet. This is particularly troublesome considering we have planned a 3 week trip to Hawaii next month. A relaxing vacation where we planned to live at the pool and beach. Last night I bought one of these:
Hopefully it works. It could be a vacation lifesaver.

Until Hawaii we have been doing a lot of this.
Luckily mommy, being the intelligent and perceptive woman she is, saved a few Christmas presents to open at a later date. Our zoo lego kit from cousin Jaden has gotten us through the past few days as well as the movies "Cars" and "Toy Story."
We have tried going on a couple walks now that the snow has melted. Quin still insists on wearing shoes. Luckily Dad and Quin are the same size. At least on the left.

Now our big question is, how should we decorate the cast? Railroad tracks and Thomas the Train stickers or a Mickey montage? Any thoughts?
